2023 Geelong Design Week

As part of Geelong Design Week, 19th-29th October, K5 hosted a panel discussion on the design and construction of the Boronggook Drysdale Library.

“Geelong Design Week is a celebration of Geelong’s global recognition as a UNESCO City of Design. It acknowledges our commitment to use design and creativity to build a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive community.”

This beautiful building was a collaboration between Antarctica Architects and Architecture Associates and constructed by Nicholson Construction with furniture supplied by K5 Furniture.

The panel discussion featured special guests Nicola Garrod – Antarctica Architects, Danielle Peck – Architecture Associates and Steven Allen and Chadd Appelgren – Nicholson Construction, exploring the process of collaboration and the design influences that lead to this exceptional building.

The talk took place on Thursday 19th October at 12.30 in the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre

As an addition to Geelong Design Week, We has a Pop Up showroom with a selection of our furniture including Boyd Armchairs, with Italian brands Montbel and Segis.

One of our Boyd Chairs featured the launch of Sustainable Living Fabrics new collection Plaad. A great opportunity celebrating the historical Geelong Woollen Mills with a 100% wool weave milled in Geelong.
