Quiet Icons, Global Impact
Milan Design Week brings bold statements and fresh ideas with many brands catching our eye, It's difficult not to bring them back home with us. That being said we are excited to announce two new European brands joining the K5 range as we exclusively represent them in Australia.
We’re proud to announce that Biba Salotti is now exclusively represented by K5 Furniture in Australia — a strategic partnership shaped by shared values, design integrity, and a commitment to thoughtful living.
Handcrafted in Italy since 1980, Biba Salotti is renowned for its mastery of upholstered furniture, combining artisanal tradition with contemporary design sensibilities. Founded by Francesco Miari in Parma, the brand has become a symbol of Italian craftsmanship, producing refined sofas, beds, and accessories with a deep focus on comfort, quality, and mental well-being.
Chosen by K5’s CEO for their alignment in vision and values, Biba Salotti represents the future of furniture: well-crafted, emotionally resonant, and designed for longevity. Each piece is made entirely in-house, reflecting a dedication to original design, meticulous technique, and continuous research — qualities that echo K5’s own commitment to innovative, research-driven collections.
This collaboration strengthens K5’s curated calibre of international design, bringing to Australian interiors a brand that celebrates slow design, sensory materiality, and enduring comfort.
We are thrilled to welcome Biba Salotti to our portfolio — a brand that, like K5, sees furniture not just as an object, but as a medium for well-being, expression, and considered living.
K5 Furniture is pleased to introduce Midgard Licht, the iconic German lighting manufacturer whose legacy is rooted in the very invention of adjustable lighting.
Founded in 1919 by Curt Fischer, Midgard pioneered the concept of directable, human-centric lighting — a radical idea at the time that soon became essential to modern living and working. Their luminaires illuminated the Bauhaus studios and were favoured by visionaries such as Walter Gropius, reflecting a deep commitment to function, clarity, and user adaptability.
At Salone del Mobile Milano 2025, Midgard reasserted its role in contemporary design with quiet confidence — presenting minimalist yet technically advanced pieces that bridge industrial heritage with modern sustainability. The award-winning AYNO collection, designed by Stefan Diez, uses tension-based engineering and recycled materials to deliver light exactly where it's needed, without hinges or excess.
Today, Midgard occupies a unique place in the market — a rare fusion of historical importance and forward-thinking execution. Every piece continues to be made in Germany, upholding a century-long legacy of meticulous construction, simplicity, and longevity.
As Midgard joins the K5 portfolio, it brings with it not only timeless form and function — but a design philosophy that remains as relevant now as it was a hundred years ago.
Each collection draws on research-driven design, timeless construction, and meticulous technique holding emotional and practical value in everyday life. Both Midgard Licht and Biba Salotti strengthen K5’s curated calibre of international design, bringing to Australian interiors, design that celebrates slow design, innovation, and enduring comfort.
We look forward to sharing these brands with you and exploring the diverse collections.
